Constructed with vacuum infused E-glass with a high-density foam core and extra multidirectional E-glass below the waterline. Carbon fibre frames running across the bridge deck supporting foam cored bulkheads linking both hulls. Externally visible frames and structure finished in gel coat.
sail plan
Rigged for shorthand sailing, the functional sail plan includes a self tacking jib and double-ended mainsheet for the twin helm. All control lines run along the coach roof aft to each helm station. The fractional mast is deck-stepped atop the coach roof. Soft standing rigging used thoughout. Options include carbon fibre mast, electric main traveler, electric furling jib, and detachable or permanent electric furler for the code zero.
PROPULSION
The SQ46 is quietly powered by two 15.1 KW electric motors. Available in either a fully electric or hybrid option with a traditional diesel generator. Designed for optimized hydrogeneration while under sail and augmented by solar power. Standard battery capacity provides a range of 80 nm on a single charge.
deck
Vacuum infused E-glass with high-density foam core on all flat sections. Extra E-glass for all high loaded areas. Non-skid finish on all deck walking areas with the option to upgrade to alternative deck surfaces. Flush hatches on walking decks. All running rigging is routed through the coach roof, providing clear open decks and cockpit. Foredeck features a flat area for additional lounging and two large trampolines separated by bowsprit which houses the anchor and chain. Large deck lockers for storing sails, fenders, etc. Additional storage in forepeaks.
COCKPIT
A large open cockpit area has ample seating and shelter from the elements with protection on three sides with the option for enclosures. The extended coach roof maximizes sun-protection. A built-in exterior port-side shower provides an easy fresh-water rinse for gear and swimmers. Options for ice maker, fridge and BBQ.
helm
Twin helm station steering from the upper seat and from inside the cockpit. Instrument displays and motor controls can be repeated at each helm.
saloon
Panoramic views and a four-piece sliding door create an open flow between cockpit and saloon for a large living area. The saloon seating converts to a king-size berth convenient for passages and extra guests. Extra storage under the seats. There is a 360° view while seated. Options for navigation station, bar, entertainment station, or additional storage cabinets.
galley
Functional U-shaped galley portside with ample storage and various outfitting options. There is a double or single sink and cooktop/oven outboard with a large open countertop inboard.
cabins
Available in a three cabin layout with port side owner’s hull with the option for a traditional four cabin layout with mirroring hulls. Forward staterooms feature athwartship queen berths. Aft staterooms have fore/aft queen berths and opening hatches in the headliner and aft facing port lights. Each cabin contains a hanging locker. as well as LED downlights, reading lights and low profile hatches above the berth for light and ventilation. A fan or AC can be fitted as optional extras.
heads
Each hull contains one main head with the option for additional heads. Options for electric heads and freshwater flushing. Slotted floors and automatic bilge pumps with manual override fitted in each head make for easy draining and cleaning. Blackwater tank in starboard hull.
